I have been to this office times - it is only two blocks from my work. The first two times I waited an hour. The third time, I called ahead to see if they were backed up. They said no and that I should come early as they could take me immediately. I walked over and waited minutes (it would have been 15 if they had not taunted me). That said, the staff and doctors seem to do a good job even if they are more expensive than local alternatives (maybe reconsider if you are on a budget without insurance).

We visited Dr. Panarelli's office in April/21 for an eye exam for our son (age 4). The experience was very pleasing. Dr.Panarelli's interaction with my son was superb. He was engaging, made our son feel really comfortable all throughout the whole exam (included pupil dilation, intraocular pressure measurement, color-blindness test, inner eye exam, ...) and a a few funny ways (including a couple of remote controlled moving dogs) to make sure our son was moving his eyes in the direction intended by the doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Panarelli.

My first visit to the office. My wife is a patient of Dr Nagel's uptown and her downtown office is a very short walk from my office, so I decided to give her a try after my previous eye doctor retired. Dr Nagel was friendly and informative as she conducted the examination, which was initiated by one of her more junior associates who handled the preliminaries. The office was bright and open. It is down a flight of stairs in a space that it shares with another medical office, though I don't remember what it was. Everyone was friendly and professional and made me feel both comfortable with their competence and welcomed by their warmth.

Dr. Nagel also took the time to explain the possible cause of my eye irritation and what she would do to treat it. My eye had recovered and I have found a wonderful doctor that I feel I can trust. Dr Pamel and his knowledgeable and proficient team made getting laser eye surgery the most pleasant experience possible. Dr Pamel and his team ran as a well oiled machine. I was in and out of the doctors office within minutes. Every member of his staff from the receptionist to the technicians were polished professionals. The surgery was a breeze Dr Pamel made me feel very comfortable and answered any and all questions I had throughout the surgical process. This amazing, revolutionary surgery took only minutes from start to finish. The staff hailed a cab for me after morning surgery, and made sure I arrived to my hotel safely. I took a nap, went back to the doctors office later that afternoon and by the end of the day I was shopping in Bloomingdale's. As a member of the KIA Speedskating Academy hoping to represent the USA in the upcoming 214 Winter Olympics I know the importance of having perfect vision, as having a contact fall out in the middle of a race can potentially make the difference between a podium finish or not. Dr Pamel and his team made me feel safe and comfortable throughout my whole surgical experience. Now thanks to Pamel Vision ' Laser Group I have better then perfect vision, I have 2/15! vision.

I had my LASIK procedure done by Dr. Pamel about months ago and it has been by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You can’t put a price on the convenience of just waking up in the morning and being able to see perfectly. No more glasses and especially no more annoyance from contacts which were getting more and more unbearable for me. Dr. Pamel is consistently regarded as one of the best surgeons in the field and after doing extensive research on other practices, I knew I made the best choice of putting my eyes in his care. I now have 2/15 vision (2/4 before surgery), along with the second most important outcome: no side effects. I was very worried about long-term dry eyes and night-time vision problems which have made many people regret getting LASIK done in the first place. Dr. Pamel and his staff do multiple thorough pre-op exams to ensure the best possible outcome. He was very blunt and did a great job explaining the probability of a successful outcome and the potential risks for my particular eyes. It goes without saying that only the latest technology is used to perform the procedure, with all aspects custom-tailored to your specific eyes. I got the sense that Dr. Pamel genuinely cares about your well being and wasn’t desperate for my business as other practices seemed, which made me feel comfortable. His staff before, during, and after surgery were wonderful and very accommodating (they scheduled a Friday evening procedure just so I wouldn’t miss any work). I highly recommend anyone who is interested in the procedure to at least consult with Dr. Pamel, you will not regret your decision!

I am a member of the US Speedskating National Long Track Team training with the hopes of representing USA in the 214 Olympic Games. This month, I had the incredibly fortunate opportunity to receive LASIK at the hands of Dr. Pamel and his staff. The entire experience was beyond compare. Everyone I interacted with at the office was friendly, knowledgeable, and they completely killed off my remaining fears surrounding the LASIK process. The actual procedure was unbelievably easy and took less than 1 minutes. I woke up the following morning with 2/2 in both eyes. I have been wearing contact lenses for roughly ten years and the notion that I can now get up every day with the ability to see leaves me dumb-founded. If you are considering LASIK but find yourself with reservations, talk to the people at Pamel Vision ' Laser Group. They have a great 1-minute video that explains LASIK in the simplest terms. After watching it, I had a solid understanding of the procedure and was ready to hop on the operating table that second. LASIK has already made my day-to-day so much easier and care-free. It eliminated the issues I dealt with of wearing contact lenses while skating. I honestly can not say enough good things about LASIK, Dr. Pamel, or the fine people working with him. I owe a lot of thanks to them all.

Any type of surgery can be nerve-racking, especially eye surgery. The entire procedure (for both eyes) takes about 1 minute, but there is a lot of preparation involved. The doctor and his staff walk you through the entire process and test your eyes using all sorts of machines. The doctor spends as much time as you need to explain the procedure (negative and positive) and helps you make your own decision. The day of the surgery there are a few more tests and then the procedure. After, you go home and rest. The doctor himself calls you to see how you’re doing. There is a next day follow-up, where the doctor tests your new vision and makes sure your eye are OK. My wife and I have a follow-up next week again to keep track of progress. The entire experience has been great. I highly recommend Mandel Vision to anyone.

The waiting room was windowless, with wall to wall people. When I asked the receptionist about the room's dim lighting thinking maybe it was for people with some sort of eye condition, I was told this lighting was normal. Perhaps they are trying to save on electricity? I arrived at 12:45 for a 1 pm appointment. At 1:15, I turned to the girl sitting next to me. She had arrived for a 12: appointment and was still waiting, with no end in sight - it was a LONG line, two dozen or more people, few of whom were not speaking English. The impression I got was that of a medical mill - although the doctor charges full price - $1 for a first visit, with no discount for the uninsured. And they ask you to pay before you ever see the doctor. For that price, I expect something other than a dumpy office. The other clue was that the intake form asked how I had heard of Dr. Hayashi. (Her name came out on top at Google) And then it asked I knew of her through a Google ad. Is there a connection here? I knew if I waited an hour there, I would be depressed, so I cancelled my appointment, got a refund on my prepaid bill, and walked out.

Here is a brief description of my problem with Union Square Eyecare. Let me begin by saying that the doctors and staff are all very nice but I had such a long and drawn out issue with USE that I could not possibly give them a positive review. Here is why: I was told to come in for my contact lens fitting on a certain day. I went to the fitting but there was a misunderstanding with the doctor and she was not there. I said ok and since I had already paid the $5 copay, I agreed to use the $5 as credit towards the actual fitting that happened a few weeks later. After the fitting I asked about the $5 credit that I had with USE and could I please put that toward the fitting. They had a hard time finding the note where it stated I even had a credit but they did apply it after a long search and a conversation with the manager. The manager was apologetic and I thought the issue was over and done. Fast forward four months and I receive a letter in the mail saying that I need to take immediate action to pay the $5 for the contact lens fitting or the account would be sent to a collection agency! Unbelievably, I called USE and the receptionist told me that they had no record of me paying with the credit. I was persistent and told her that I was one hundred percent positive that I had paid the copay and to please look again. She put me on hold for about five minutes and then came back on the phone to affirm that I did indeed pay for the copay. I probably should have asked for a receipt because I wouldn't be surprised to see the same threatening letter in the mail in another five months.

We were concerned whether a second surgery will help at all, considering the first one did not work. He has always been very patient to listen to us, answer our questions, and be frank to us. I know some people say the wait time is long. But I think that is his style, not rushing any patient. You will appreciate it when you get into the room. The surgery turns out to be very successful. I will continue to search for another doctor who does not overbook. I am very upset and disappointed.

I stopped wearing my contacts on December 24th 21 two weeks prior to my free LASIK consultation at Diamond vision. On January 6th 214 I had my free lasik Consultation. Kenneth was my consultant and made me feel very comfortable. During my free consultation kenneth told me right off the bat whether or not I was a candidate for LASIK eye surgery and laid down the prices for me. On JANUARY th 214 I had my preoperative examination with Dr.Stein who did a lot of eye/visual tests to make sure i was a candidate best suited for lasik. I was told at the end of these tests That I was the perfect candidate.. To be a perfect candidate for LASIK you cant wear your contacts for a month as your cornea has to be really thick for the laser when doing the procedure. I personally hated the way i looked in glasses, and with contacts I always felt more confident, but i was going to have to suffer in my glasses for one more month as I knew after LASIK i would have contacts lenses in my eyes 24/7 :) I had the IntraLase procedure done on January 18th 214. I met with Dr.Stetson before the procedure and he made me feel very comfortable. When i went to the procedure room the operation itself took only 15 minutes, but Trust me Dr.Stetson knows what he is doing and makes you so comfortable during the whole procedure. After the procedure i had blurryvision which is a common side affect. On January 1th 214, day after procedure, I opened my eyelids and every was so CLEAR:):):) I went for my post operative appointment on the the 1th and was told that i am 2/2. When i walked out of 15 west east 44 street, madison avenue, I was so happy I was 2/2 and could see 2/2, Im 21 btw and was so happy that this is something im going to have for the rest of my life. Today is January 2th, two days after the Intralase procedure, and can now type this as I am speaking, watch tv, shower, read, bathe, and wanted to say THANK YOU Dr. Steven Stetson You are absolutely a gift to the field of Opthamology and know what you are doing. I am so happy i had the procedure done with you. I also want to also thank Kenneth and the rest of the Diamond vision staff, who were so nice and made me feel comfortable. I hope you guys do thousands of more eye surgeries this year to give people the gift of 2/2 vision, again thanks DIAMOND VISION!

I can see again!!! I could not be more pleased with my experience at Diamond Vision from the initial scheduling to the consult, surgery and follow up care. I had LASIK done with a different surgeon about 15 years ago and the vision in the left eye was still near-sighted with astigmatism and I suffered with a lot of glare at night. Because of the poor experience I had with the last surgeon and his staff, I decided to live with it for 15 years until my friend told me about the amazing results she had with Dr. Stetson at Diamond Vision. I scheduled a consult with Dr. Stein and she was extremely professional and informative. I ended up scheduling PRK instead of LASIK to avoid the potential complications of having a second LASIK procedure after 15 years. Thanks Dr. Stein for setting me straight because most people think that LASIK is always the way to go but we have to remember to trust the professionals opinions and not friends and the internet! On the day of my surgery I was fairly anxious but after I met my surgeon, Dr. Stetson, and he explained the procedure again to me in such a soothing voice my anxiety washed away from me. He handed me a teddy bear to hold during the procedure and also covered me in a blanket because I was a little chilly. For a second I thought I was at a spa! I should also mention that Dr. Stetson is very handsome certainly not a necessity in a surgeon but it was a nice bonus. :-) Next thing I knew I was home and listening to my audio book while resting my eyes. As was explained to me, I experienced some pain and discomfort that is typical of PRK but it was so not a big deal. It was so worth it! The surgery was Saturday and I was back at work on Monday! All of my follow-up appointments with Dr. Stein went perfectly and now it is 6 months later and I am still a perfect 2/2 and free of glare!!! I could not be MORE happy with my experience at Diamond Vision. I had such a positive experience here after such a negative experience somewhere else. I am thrilled with my vision and now recommend refractive surgery (ONLY with Diamond Vision!!!) to every friend, colleague and sometimes virtual strangers! So glad to be finally seeing clearly again! Thanks Dr. Stetson, Dr. Stein and the rest of the Diamond Vision staff!

Dr. Sobel is a very mild, pleasant and calm medical professional. He will answer questions and explain things, which I appreciate. His staff, however, are often rude they make comments aloud about the patients sitting in the waiting area, within their earshot. They are often impatient and stand-offish on the phone. The optician is no different. If I had not been recommended to this office by my neurologist, I would probably not return here, sadly. One staff member, the gentleman who answers the phones, is slightly more pleasant, but it must be a tough working environment, with all of those attitudes being thrown around.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sobel's for over a decade and in that time developed a chronic eye condition that requires careful monitoring and frequent visits. From my first episode Dr. Sobel carefully explained the diagnosis and has amended my treatment as new information about the disease is released or in response to my own personal needs. He is always available to take my call and patiently explains (and reexplains!) my treatments and is particularly sensitive to how nerve wracking such a condition can be. Every time I've called the office I have been given an appointment immediately and have always felt in safe hands with Dr. Sobel and his staff--in fact I've had to go so often over the years they've become friends. I have recommended Dr. Sobel to colleagues, friends, and family for everything from a routine exam to more complex eye health matters. Given that its a small office with a large number of patients, you may be quickly be put on hold when you first call, or need to wait at the counter to speak with one of the office staff, but if you are a little patient (as well) you'll have a warm welcome.

Hi to ALL, I heard about Dr. Hufnagel from a family friend. I wanted to do Lasik and I went to see other good doctors before I came here. I used to wear contacts since I was 1 yrs old. I must have over-wore them because I kept getting infections and dryness in my eyes. Last year after my last infection my eyes would not accept contact lenses anymore . No matter what brand or what type, as soon as I would put the lens in my eye it would burn and get red and irritated. I wore glasses for the next year and was not able to do many extreme sports that I usually do because of my glasses. When I came to Dr. Hufnagel I was very worried and paranoid about doing Lasik because of the complications I had previously with my eyes. With his professional knowledge and thorough explanations he calmed me down and told me everything would be fine. I was still very nervous but decided to trust the doctor and go ahead with the surgery. I am now a month after my surgery and I see 2/15 and there are no problems with my eyes at all. Its a real miracle how something can change your life so positively . I already recommended a few friends and family to Dr. Hufnagel and I will continue to do so. I really felt comfortable and got great service from EVERYONE in the office and it was a real pleasure getting my procedure done here. Dr. Hufnagel is kind, warm, professional and is very knowledgeable in Lasik, eye-care and ophthalmology. I am blessed to have found Dr. Hufnagel and will continue to refer him to anyone looking to make positive changes in their life.

She had acted unprofessionally by flirting with me to the point that she then asked me to go to a bar with her and some drinks after work. While at the bar, as she was finishing her drink, she started acting more distant and wanted to leave. In turn I ended up paying for her drink as well as mines. She had basically used me to buy her drinks. Not only was this unprofessional but in a ways unethical. They addressed all of my questions and fears and I learned that it is much safer than LASIK. I feel very educated about what I'm going to have done, which is awesome because doctors don't usually explain things in detail for patients to understand. I was especially concerned because I have a prescription of -1. for my right eye and -8.5 for my left and thought the numbers were too high to correct. But then I learned that Dr. Chynn corrected the highest prescription in the world of -22. through laser vision correction. I was SO relieved to hear that! His staff also assured me that there are no complications whatsoever that go on during the operation. And Dr. C is so confident that he has the only glass-walled operating room in the world (it's pretty neat once you see it in person)!!! It's also amazing how he's the only person in New York who performs the safer LASEK than LASIK--shows that he truly cares for the people! On top of that, he graduated from Harvard Medical school! My lasik surgery performed by Dr. Bonanni at Gotham Lasik Vision months ago. Never did Dr. Bonanni explain that having a Lasik flap leaves you vulnerable to serious permanent complications because the lasik flap never fully heals. There are many other options you can have besides Lasik, like PRK or Lasek that creates no corneal flap. Most lasik issues are flap related and were never discussed. Since having surgery months ago, I have found out through another doctor's evaluation that I still have astigmatism in my right eye. Before the surgery I had very moderate astigmatism and to hear that I still had almost -1.D of under correction was a disappointment. When I spoke to Dr. Bonanni, he assured that it was too early and that my eye needed to heal. Which it did not. This should have been discussed after the first post operative visit that there was still under correction in my right eye and that why I was still blurry. My trust is completely lost with Dr. Bonanni ' Gotham Lasik Vision. There is no commitment to 2/2 vision or patient safety.

At this visit i was illegally charged for services which i had to pay in cash on the spot (yes, now i know better. i was new to ny then). On a second experience with the doctor i had my glasses prescription mailed to me. It turns out it was written wrong (it's okay glasses aren't that expensive right?). On a third experience i called the office to try and get my real prescription. One attendent told me she'd call me back. When she didn't i called and some one else was on the line. This one told me (after some coaxing) my prescription over the phone since they didn't want to send it or didn't know how. The prescription was again wrong. so i'm done with them and i wish them the same treatment they gave me.

I liked the fact that I was able to get an appointment to see the eye doctor relatively quickly. Staff and doctor were all very friendly and pleasant. I did not have to wait for a very long time before I was attended to. Thank you.

It has been 6 MONTHS since I had LASIK on my eyes, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Like many people, I was worried for years about getting it done mostly fear of the unknown. Well if that is you too, then PLEASE go to DR. Coad and Christine, because I can think of no better people to work with. After decades of being dependent on contact lenses and glasses to see far away, I spent the last year suffering from eye redness, infections and irritations from the newest brand of lens I was prescribed. So, I decided to look into LASIK. But it took me a long time to decide on LASIK because, to be frank, it's not a cheap procedure and we're talking about my eyes. I have an active profession (dancer) and play sports so the thought of hurting myself was prevalent. With a recommendation form a coworker, I was given Dr. Coad and Christine's name. Best. Decision. Ever. Christine, the 1st person you will me, is so sweet and patient. She is a true caretaker who semed to be most concern with my personal understanding and calmness with the procedure. She educated me on the entire process I've never met a medical professional who cared so much for patients even before they become patients. She wrote personal emails, gave me her phone number, checked in on me throughout the course of prep, surgery and post op, You then meet Dr. Coad.! He is beyond knowledgable, and gets more excited the more he talks about the work. He has a great bedside manner, and I felt at ease with him as my doctor to perform the procedure. He constantly reminded me of what to expect before and after so there were no surprises on my end. No question that I was in great hands. The Chelsea Eye Center is extremely clean and well organized. They put you through a battery of tests to be as certain as they can about how to treat/prep you best. They are EXTREMELY thorough. I actually had a consultation with another doctor who had performed LASIK just to double check all the findings. Concerning the actual procedure, the whole thing as extremely quick. You come in, get prep, and then lay down in front of the doctor. There are two side by side machines that do all the work. You get placed under one machine, and get an incision made on you eye (you feel an extremely weird pressure, like someone is pushing on your eyeball, but I did NOT feel pain). Then the seat moves you to the other machine, where you hear a bunch of noise but you don't feel anything. The hardest part, as with most eye exams, was to focus on the light above you for a minute or so. Now, I did not have the "sit up and see the world" results that some people have with the procedure. Everything was extremely blurry, and my right eye was worse than my left. It watered terribly for about a week, and the "halo" effect was worse in one eye over the other. I was convinced that the procedure failed and that I was going to go blind..:) However, since Christine is so wonderful, so talked me down on several occasions. After a week went by, I noticed a significant change. The world became crisp and clear, and my eyes stopped watering. It is now six months later, and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! My eye sight is 2/15! Do yourself a favor, and set up an appointment for a consultation. Once you meet them, I guarantee you will move forward with this major step in your life!!

I knew as soon as I met Christine that I wanted to get my LASIK done at Chelsea Eye. I had been to a few other offices and I didn't feel nearly as comfortable anywhere else as I did at Chelsea Eye. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and Dr. Coad is the best. Christine was phenomenal too - she gave a ton of information, answered all of my questions, never pushed me into anything and was extremely professional. I had a wonderful experience at Chelsea Eye and I would recommend this office to anyone (and I already have!!)

I had cataracts removed by Dr. Christopher Coad of Chelsea Eye, and I was extraordinarily pleased with the results. i went from having very poor vision in my left eye, to having nearly 2/2 vision for the first time in my life. Dr. Coad explained every step in the process, patiently addressing all of my concerns, and helping me choose the special implant that would correct my severe astigmatism. The surgical coordinator, Vace Marisenovic, made the complex process as painless as possible, lining up the post-op medications I needed, and helping me through the scheduling. All of my eye care has been handled by Chelsea eye for many years, and I have never found them to be anything less than friendly, competent and helpful. I was told that Dr Coad was one of the premier eye surgeons in the country, and after seeing the results of his work, I believe it!. I am a visual artist, and there is nothing in the world more precious to me than my eyesight. After the surgery, I woke up to a technicolor world like I haven't seen in many years, filled with the most dazzling sunsets, and greens and blues and violets that make me see the world all over again. My thanks to Dr. Coad for restoring my vision and color perception.

I had iLASIK in early August with Dr. Coad and Christine, and my only regret is waiting so long! They were informative, professional, caring and most importantly, delivered a superb result which I can't be thankful enough for. A friend recommended me to them, and my ophthalmologist cousin recommended Dr. Coad, so I went with him and couldn't be happier. Also was very fairly priced, especially considering they use top of the line technology. Highly recommend getting their free consultation at the very least if you are even considering getting LASIK!

I wanted to get Lasik before I went on vacation, so I googled a couple of places and spoke to many different eye facilities around the city. I ended up making an appointment with another doctor that a friend requested (which required my credit card and a payment of $15). My mom was extremely nervous and requested that I go see my primary eye doctor to see if Lasik was the right choice for me. Dr. Pass recommended I call Dr. Belmont. When John picked up the phone, I immediately knew I was calling the right place. He didn't pick up and give me a price, he answered every single ridiculous question I had. He knew about the surgery, where the other places just had someone to pick up the phone and give me pricing information. I immediately felt comfortable with the idea of Lasik. I made an appointment for a couple of days later for the eye tests and went back the day after to get the surgery. They did things the safe way at the office, not the quick way to make money and get me out of the office as soon as possible. Dr. Belmont even called me over the next couple of days (on the weekend) to see how I was doing. They really were the best, I recommend her to everyone! :)

The whole Belmont team is wonderful!! Dr. Belmont is extremely knowledgeable in her field and quickly calmed my fears when explaining my procedure during our first meetings. The team made me feel extremely prepared and confident about the procedure. I was given a “kit” that had everything I needed for my eye procedure and the day of the surgery was flawless. Dr. Belmont is meticulous, ensuring that I was comfortable during exams and that I had proper healing/ results with multiple check-ups. John is a wonderful help as well and even stayed with me before my surgery because I said that it made me calmer! The group of doctors and entire staff made me feel like part of their family- knowing me by name and things we chatted about in the office. I live an hour and a half away from the office and despite city traffic- I always enjoy seeing everyone for my check-ups! They are THE BEST and would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Belmont to anyone considering corrective eye surgery. It was the best decision I ever made! My eyes have gone from 7 left and 65 right to 15/2 left and 2/2 right- truly AMAZING!
